The I’s Have It [31 Days of Mental-Pause]

Scrolling through my facebook feed just now, minus the baseball news,  all that’s there is  a lot of posts starting with “I.”

I want

I need

I did

I was

I will

I can

I don’t

I, I, I, I…

Two verses come to mind:

Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live;

yet not I,

but Christ lives in me:

and the life which I now live in the flesh

I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Exodus 3:13-14

And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses,

I AM THAT I AM:

and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,

I AM

hath sent me unto you.

We are a needy people. God is our I AM. Whatever our own current  “I…” statement includes, God is still and will always be, I AM.

Joy - “I AM” has always been my favourite Name of God. It doesn’t matter how I need Him at any moment, He responds “I AM”.

I have to admit, you made me look at my last few FB posts. Phew…all is well, but it could have just as easily been me to whom you were referring.

A verse that was my theme for a year, and I pray has been etched across my life in action and word is Psalm 115:1, “Not to us, LORD, not to us, but to Your Name be the glory.”

Please Father remove me, so others see Thee,
Joy
