A Tea Party Needs Dancing Too! [Magnolia Green Children’s Photographer]

A Tea Party Needs Dancing Too!

Time rolled around again, and I was able to document that this sweet 6 year old had another birthday. Cue the music and get on with the party!

I was at a different house last year for her birthday, and I was so excited to see her new space. Princess, Diva, Sweetheart-no matter what you see, this young lady lives large and her room is always so “her!”

To be fair, every day for her is a party-she and her mom live life fully, and it’s so fun to see.  So it was only right that we pulled up to see a very unusual bird sitting lakeside. I bounded out of the vehicle to be sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me as he was quite a ways away, but low and behold there was a majestic Bald Eagle.  I told her that she was my first client to ever bring the nation’s bird to a session!

How many little girls get to pose with the Eagle in the tree behind her?!

Ashely was invited to her tea party and there the two of them sat thoroughly enjoying one another’s company and Grandma’s Heirloom Tea Set; it’s every little girl’s rite of passage.

Little Girl

I have no daughters, but if I did, I’d have a huge canvas of this one displayed in my home for sure!  Quintessential Princess!

The sun continued to set as this late spring evening grew cooler.  My princess was full of her own little personality and

shared some great ideas for being in front of my camera again.  I was more than happy to oblige.

Do you remember tire swings?  I adore big, old trees for the very reason that my imagination takes me back to my own childhood instantaneously.

The minute I saw this big tree, I knew we were going to incorporate it somehow. I think it worked perfectly. Wouldn’t you say so?

OAK TREE

Drawing closer to nightfall, we wanted to catch a few more photographs of Little Miss. We headed over to a spot I’d scouted earlier in the week.

We heard a mouse, saw a snake and ate a bug? 🙂  It was just such a fun evening.

Here, sitting on the hill at the golf course where they live and Daddy loves to spend time.  She’s a doll!

Getting more serious:

and then- BAM – the dancing began!  Every tea party needs dancing, too!

A little late-night pleading brought us to our last spot and ‘the bridge.’

Really, there was no big thing about this pretty area to our sweet little girl except maybe that it was next to the playground she was dying to get to, even if she was pretty tired out!

Swoon!  One of my absolute favorites!

The night is done.  I can’t wait  until we meet again, Sweet Little Lady!

Spring in Richmond [Rocketts Landing Photography]

Spring in Richmond

Rocketts Landing

Finally, finally, finally~it’s spring in Richmond (no jinx). After 3 straight weeks of sub-zero temperatures, accumulating snow  and ice storms, singing song birds and bouncy robins came out in droves, the daffodils all poke from underground and the sun shone every so brightly!

Blues skies abound and the James River at Rocketts Landing pulled our car in as we headed off on Saturday errands. It was a pitt stop we were more than happy to make.  The area is so rich in its history. We walked around and talked about the wars and wondered how many men-how much blood was shed underfoot.  My husband even shed a tear gazing at the American Flag wind-ripping into the backdrop of the  bright blues of the sky. (It’s up there-look carefully.)

Avoiding the several inches of thick mud, we laughed as seagulls claimed their skyzone aloft before swooping down to bob on the very high and swift rapids of the James that day. No sooner did their body hit water after fighting the wind and they were zooming south in backwards motion only to start all over again. I don’t think they made any real progress, but it was fun to watch. Apparently they were enjoy the first signs of spring as much as anybody out there. So, we walked, we discovered, we touched everything along the path, attempted to climb trees, scraped knees, mounted pretty steep steps, admired the city, took in the riverscapes and saw the barren winter trees with a promise that new life is right around the corner.  I’m so thankful for a day to be out and to be with my family!  If you haven’t been down around the area lately, go check out Rocketts Landing and take a stroll. You’ll be happy you did!

Baby Boy Comes Home [Midlothian Va lifestyle photographer]

Baby Boy Comes Home

[Midlothian VA lifestyle photographer]

When you’re looking for a photographer who brings herself and her camera into your home to capture  your best just as you are, that’s a lifestyle photographer, and that’s me.  I love most anything I can get behind my camera for, but I especially enjoy telling stories that  bring a smile to your face and a very particular moment in time to your heart every time you see them through the years to come. Lifestyle photographer, Tamara Henion Photography~ It’s Real!

After a pretty snow-less winter, central VA opened its doors to a beautifully fallen snow just after Valentine’s Day. It would also happen to be this little guy’s birthday. He came into his mommy and daddy’s world just about as quickly as the ground was covered in white that Monday early afternoon. I do believe it was an instant love fest between Mommy, Daddy and big sister that very moment.  When baby boy comes home the world changes as it once was, and no one would ever want to change that!

So, join me in welcoming this beautiful baby boy to the world. Oh, how precious!

Wedding Photos [Midlothian Wedding Photographer]

WEDDING PHOTOS

{Not Everyone who appreciates great photography has a huge wedding budget…}

I have met some wonderful women who are wedding photographers here in the Midlothian and Central VA area.  To meet them is to love them; they really love people and love what they do!  I have not, however, met another photographer whose goal is the same as mine. *I truly realize that not everyone who values photography can make a budget stretch enough to afford the (very worth it) $3000 and up wedding photographer.  I have made it my priority to find the Mr. and Mrs. To Be who, while they may be tight on money, are rich in love and faith. The bride and groom who desire beautiful images from their day as it happens, but their heart-their real focus -is on one another and their marriage. I love helping plan your wedding, and I’m really good at finding ways to cut corners without sacrificing style, vision and taste. My brides tend to have a limited budget spent pretty equally between their reception, ceremony and photography. Their wedding day begins with getting ready photos a lot of times, but they reserve their groom’s first look for the moment they walk down the aisle. After a heartfelt ceremony often led by a pastor they love, we grab all the group photos before some quite time with just the newlyweds. It’s not too long before their appearance is mandated by their guests at the reception, and we pop on over for their big introduction: MR. & MRS. have arrived!  Enjoying their friends, family, food and fellowship, the handful of hours are over, and never too soon as all my brides and grooms really look forward to the moment they drive off-just the two of them-to being their new lives together as one. If this is YOU, I’m your photographer. Contact me and let’s talk all things weddings. I can’t wait to meet you and help whisk you away to your own forever!
